All of our guides on the Perch Patrol take pride in providing the best equipment that has proven to provide the most success while fishing Devils Lake, North Dakota. Every client is given a Vexilar FLX28, high quality rods and reels spooled with the appropriate fishing line no matter what species we are fishing for. We also provide tackle. The reason we do, is WANT all of our guests to catch fish! Whether it’s the right colored rattle spoon that drives the walleyes crazy or the right size tungsten jig with a number 10 hook completely covered with two properly hooked wax worms for perch in deep water…we are going to hook you up! Of course all of our Jason Mitchell Thermal shelters are equipped with comfortable chairs and heaters that are so warm you will be fishing in your shirt sleeves.
Because we provide everything, we don’t have a ton of room to accommodate a lot of gear brought by guests. Some items you can bring…a favorite rod that you won’t fish without. Again…a rod, not a hard sided case that is big enough to fit a guitar! A small tackle box with tungsten jigs and rattle spoons, if you would like to experiment on your own a little. Cleats for walking on bare ice, warm clothes such as bibs and a jacket, warm boots, hat and gloves. If you are not on any meal package, you should bring a small cooler for your lunch, snacks and beverages. Sunglasses, fillet knives, and freezer bags. If you want to bring beer or an alcohol beverage, you can. All we ask is that you drink them in moderation and nit while we are in the vehicle and that you dispose of your empty cans or bottles appropriately.
